OpenGL ES Error: “Can’t find the name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver” the basics.
The error message can be shown on your device at different times. For example, I received this message while updating my NVIDIA driver from the NVIDIA Control Panel. You would think that NVIDIA has nothing to do with an Intel driver… but it probably has to do with the part “OpenGL“.
Below is the error message I received:
“OpenGL ES Error”
“Can’t find the name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver”
The tutorial below is divided into two parts. The first part consists of a short tutorial without screenshots. Most system administrators can probably fix the problem with the shorter tutorial.
The second part consists of screenshots for the end-users among us.
Let’s fix “Can’t find the name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver”, the short tutorial.
- Open your explorer.
- Right click “This PC”.
- Click Properties.
- click on Device Manager.
- Open the tab Display Adapters.
- Right click your Intel driver.
- Choose Update Driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Wait for your driver to be updated.
- Restart your PC and try again.
Fix: “Can’t find the name of Intel ICD OpenGL driver”, for dummies.
Go to start and search for File Explorer.Right click “this PC” on the left and click on Properties.Click on Device manager in the left menu.Open Display Adapters tab.
Right click the Interl(R) HD Graphics 530 driver.
Click on update driver.
Select Search automatically for updated driver software.…and wait for the Intel driver to be updated.Re-start your PC and see if it works.
If the automatic update of the driver fails, you can also install it manually from the Intel drivers website.
- Download the driver from Intel.
- Locate the driver’s name and download the correct driver.
- Open the .exe and run the installation.
- Restart the PC and see if this has helped.
